Case Study
Danville Science Center
The Danville Science Center created new spaces and updated existing ones, expanding the size and content of its permanent and traveling exhibits to include two new major exhibit areas doubling its existing space.
The DSC, an affiliated of the Science Museum of Virginia, did not have its own identity to distinguish its buildings located in a campus shared with other city buildings. AB Design developed a logotype to identify DSC to be used for signage and printed materials. Large dimensional letters on both sides of the building façade, permit recognition from a distance. A cohesive sign system to identify the buildings and the interior spaces, imparts a unified campus-like atmosphere to the entire site. The color combination was selected to reflect the vibrant and cheerful nature of the Center.
The client was given elements to maintain the signs: computer templates for replacing names and titles of exhibits and a signage manual to reorder signs
as needed.
The client was highly satisfied and characterized the signage as the most outstanding feature of the venue. The client requested a proposal form AB Design to develop additional exterior signs for the campus.
